About our artist and craft masters

My name is forrest miller

I grew up in Bay City, Michigan going to Western High School and then Delta Community College.

Drawing realistically has always been a passion for me so I evolved to love acrylic and watercolor paint but eventually found that oil paint was my favorite.

I moved to Grand Rapids to go to school at Kendall College of Art and Design where I would earn my degree in Illustration in 2013.  Since graduating I have been working in catering and building my freelance art business on the side. I enjoy doing commissioned paintings of weddings, children, pets, landscapes and family portraits. I’ve also created illustrations for album covers, book covers, beer logos and a children’s book entitled “Brave Big Brother Ringo.”

I’ve participated in Artprize eleven times, had my painting purchased by the city of Royal Oak to be part of their permanent collection and recently my artwork was purchased by the Henry Ford Macomb Hospital Art Collection in Detroit, Michigan.

I love painting highly realistic landscapes focusing on the beauty of Michigan forests, lakes and wetlands.  The highlight of my career was when I court sketched the Whitmer Kidnapping Trial and retrial. It was an amazing experience that got me on local news stations as well as CNN, CBS, The New York Post and the Dailymail. Recently my court sketches were featured on an ABC news Nightline special titled “sextortion".

I feel so lucky to be able to make money doing what I love.
